“If Your Kid Comes Out To You” – Registered Runaway

Ben is a guy The Wife and I have grown to love.

We’ve met him at our first the Gay Christian Network conference where we were able to tell him how powerful his blog was to us before we came out and that his words of his own coming out story resembled ours in so many ways. We saw the tears in his eyes as we spoke these truths to him in person that day. Since then we are connected through a network of kindred loved ones and always share a hug when we see each other.

His truth continues to echo my heart and never so much as with this post.

These are things I wish my own parents said to me. Because they didn’t, I hope and pray that Ben’s words will help another parent say these words to their own fragile, terrified baby who has just found the courage to come out to them.
